SATT AxLR StabCFTR (2019-2021)

Maturation project “StabCFTR”: Development of oligonucleotide stabilizers of the p.Phe508del ion channel involved in cystic fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis is a lethal genetic disease caused by mutations in the CFTR gene which codes for an ion channel. The two academic teams have recently developed new CFTR channel modulators with “oligonucleotide stabilizers” and “peptide stabilizers” with novel mechanisms of action. The objective of the StabCFTR project is to obtain drug candidates ready for regulatory preclinical evaluation.

Laboratories involved: PHYMEDEXP Team 3 and 4 (Montpellier) with the recruitment of two engineers (E. Josse and J. Varilh).
